Want to have a cake smash session for your little one, but you have no idea where to begin? Let me help you.

First, let’s start with the basics. When does your baby turn one? Are you wanting to display the photos at baby’s party or for invites? If you answered yes, I recommend scheduling the session at least 4-6 weeks prior to your baby's birthday party. This will allow plenty of time to receive your gallery and order your prints and invitations to send out to your guests.

If you are not having a party or would prefer to wait for your baby’s first birthday, you may schedule a date just before or after their actual birth-date.

Next, the fun part, let’s pick a theme! Some parents have this planned and ready months prior, but if you’re anything like myself, you have procrastinated or just cannot decide. This is where your consultation with me comes in handy.

We will discuss your style, baby’s interests, your interests, or maybe you just want something minimalist. I’ve got you covered.

Current popular themes:

My Berry First Birthday

Retro/Groovy

One Cool/Happy Dude

My First Rodeo

First Trip Around the Sun

The Notorious One

Maybe you would like something more unique.

Think about things you or our baby is interested in such as their favorite TV show, movie, toys, games, songs, or favorite food or holiday.

Examples:

Ms. Rachel

Starbucks

Target

Toy Story

Legos

Candy Land

You Are My Sunshine

BBQ

Cake is not your thing? No problem.

Pie (Fall/Thanksgiving perhaps?)

Steak

Tacos

Spaghetti

Ribs

Cheeseburger and Fries

Now we have our theme. Let's talk outfits.

Your session includes a matching outfit and or use of studio props and accessories. I have several neutral and adorable outfits you may use for your babies cake smash. I also love to find unique and creative sets to match your theme. We will discuss and share ideas or you can sit back and let me choose the perfect outfit for your little one. Already have an outfit to use? No problem. Remember baby will be getting messy. If you'd like to keep the "fancy" outfit clean, you can change baby after the portraits into an outfit I provide, or bring another.

The smash is over and baby is a mess. Time for a bath!

I get most smiles from the bubble bath. This is usually baby's favorite part. Alternatives to bubbles are a fruit bath, milk bath, or just plain water. If your baby doesn't like baths, we can skip this or just use no water.

Cake Smash Sessions are so much fun and such an amazing experience.
